Silent blinders
Performance in Museums Quartier Wien
Duration: 12 minutes

Concept, Choreography, installation:
Yoko Halbwidl, So Young Park
Performance: Yoko Halbwidl, So Young Park, Leonie Bramberger, SeyungYeon Gung, Sunggu Hong

The performance „Silent Blinders“ seeks ghosts inside the Museums Quartier, who are the figures of the past and present. Before it became a place used primarily by humans, Museums Quartier was inhabited by horses, as court stables (Hofstallungen) until 20th century. The performance‘s role is to interweave the past and present.
The figures of the Past, which are Horse, Horse Rider, King/Queen, Smell of Hay and Wagon, haunt the figures of the Present: the workers inside Museumsquartier, the institute of MQ, the weather, smell of the food from the cafes and the benches. During the performance, the relationship of the roles, which fluctute between nurturing and controlling, are explored through interactions and sounds.
